It all started with Imani Fountain, a young woman entrepreneur who traveled to Africa, and returned with a desire to share the wonderful natural healing effects of shea butter for the skin. She imported shea butter from Ghana and, having suffered from eczema in the past, wanted to create something that would help people have healthy skin that they can feel good in. She started selling her homemade whipped shea butter at a local farmer's market and the rest is history.
